FORT PIERCE, Fla. (July 11, 2025) Indian River State College today announced the renewal of its Engineering Articulated Program (EAP) partnership with the University of Central Florida (UCF), providing students with a seamless pathway to earn a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from one of Florida’s premier engineering institutions.

The renewed 2025-28 agreement between Indian River State College and UCF’s College of Engineering and Computer Science, along with the College of Optics and Photonics, offers students the opportunity to complete their foundational engineering coursework at The River while earning credits that transfer directly toward their bachelor’s degree at UCF.
Key benefits of the Engineering Articulated Program include the following:
- Guaranteed Admission: Students who successfully complete the Associate in Arts Engineering Track and common program prerequisites are automatically accepted into UCF’s engineering program of their choice upon admission to the university.
- Comprehensive Preparation: The program ensures students complete all essential prerequisite courses, including Calculus I-III, Differential Equations, General Chemistry with lab, and Physics with Calculus I-II with labs.
- Expert Advisement: Indian River State College provides specialized engineering advisement each semester to ensure students stay on track for successful transfer.
- Cost Savings: Students can complete their foundational coursework at The River’s affordable tuition rates before transferring to UCF.
To participate in the EAP, students must officially select the program and Engineering Track, work with qualified advisors each semester, choose a specific engineering major by the end of their first year, and graduate with an Associate of Arts degree with the Pre-Engineering sub-plan. All Common Program Prerequisites must be completed with a grade of “C” or better. The program also requires completion of EGN 1002 Introduction to Engineering, providing students with essential foundational knowledge in the field.
“This renewed partnership with UCF transforms how we prepare the next generation of engineers in the Treasure Coast region, ” said Dr. Timothy E. Moore, Indian River State College president. “Students can launch their engineering careers right here at The River with guaranteed admission to one of Florida’s top engineering programs, saving thousands in tuition costs while receiving the personalized attention and support that defines our college experience. This strategic collaboration opens doors and creates opportunities for students who might not otherwise pursue engineering careers.”
The Engineering Articulated Program is particularly valuable for students interested in pursuing careers in traditional engineering disciplines, as well as emerging fields like optics and photonics through UCF’s specialized college programs.
