Everything you need to know about applying to our career training and apprenticeship programs.

You will need to list a program you wish to enroll in on your application—but don’t worry! It’s okay not to have an exact plan when you get started. You can choose a program based on your current interests and change it later if your goals shift.

Prepare to Apply
The River offers multiple start dates each year, and each has its own application deadline. Be sure to complete your application by the priority deadline for your desired start date.
If you are applying for financial aid, it is important to have your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and all necessary documents submitted to the Financial Aid Office by the priority deadline to ensure that your financial aid is awarded before classes begin.
If you miss the priority deadline for financial aid, apply as soon as you can to be considered for available funding.

- Your legal name (spelled as it appears in your official documents)
- Your date of birth
- Your social security number
- Your physical address
- Your personal email address (this must be unique to you—don’t use a parent’s or someone else’s email)
- Your personal cell phone number (this must also be unique to you)
- Your high school name, location and graduation date (or expected graduation date)
- Names of any college or university you have previously attended (if applicable), location, dates attended and degree earned (if any)
- Your military service information (if applicable)
- Your citizenship and immigration status
- Transcripts from other colleges or universities you have attended (if any) if you plan to apply for financial aid
- Payment information for your non-refundable application fee

- Students seeking Florida residency for tuition purposes are required to submit documentation to Indian River State College that proves their residency.
- For prospective students new to Florida, it is important to know that you cannot establish Florida residency just by virtue of 12-month enrollment in a college.

- New to The River?
- Within three (3) business days after your application has been submitted, you will receive an email to the address provided on your application with details on accessing MyPioneerPortal.
- Check your junk and spam folders if you don’t receive this email.
- Current or returning River student?
- Log into MyPioneerPortal.
- If you cannot remember your RiverMail address, contact the Student Communications Center toll-free at 866-792-4772.
Info for High School Students Applying to the Dual Enrollment Program
Before applying to the Dual Enrollment program, check with your high school counselor to confirm that you are eligible. Learn more about applying for Dual Enrollment here.
Info for Returning Students
Former Indian River State College students who have not been enrolled at the College within the last 24 months must reapply for admission. If your name has changed since the last time you attended, contact Student Records at 772-462-7460 or records@irsc.edu to change your name prior to reapplying.
