Bachelor of Science in Biology
Bachelor’s Degree

Earn your bachelor’s degree in biology and open doors to a wide range of careers in health, medicine, research, the environment, agriculture, education and more. You can explore many different fields of biology at The River, including biotechnology, microbiology, genetics, plant or marine biology, and ecology.
Associate in Arts – General
Associate’s Degree
Credits or Hours: 36
The general biology associate’s degree track provides a foundation for a career in a range of fields and industries. The associate degree program is designed to transfer into the Bachelor of Science in biology program at The River or another Florida public university.
Associate in Arts – Preprofessional
Associate’s Degree
Credits or Hours: 36
If you want to become a doctor or other medical professional, choose the preprofessional track in our biology associate degree program. This degree track is designed to transfer into the Bachelor of Science in Biology program at IRSC or another Florida public university.
Certificate of Professional Preparation (CPP) in Biomedical Sciences
Continuing Education Programs
Credits or Hours: 15
This program is open only to students who have already earned their Bachelor of Science degree in biology. You may be eligible for transfer credit if you attended another college for your degree. We will evaluate your transcript to determine if any equivalent courses can apply to your certification from The River.
If you want to attend medical school or another doctoral professional school, the Certificate of Professional Preparation (CPP) in Biomedical Sciences can help you get there. This program will prepare you for the challenging graduate school curriculum and required entrance exams with courses in biochemistry, genetics, immunology and human anatomy.
