At Indian River State College, we believe that financial limitations should never stand in the way of your goals. That’s why we offer scholarships for students like you, whether you’re just getting started, returning after a break, or training for a new career.
Our scholarships recognize academic excellence, artistic talent, athletic achievement, community involvement, and more. Thanks to partnerships with local foundations and organizations, you’ll also find opportunities beyond The River.
Indian River State College Foundation Scholarships
Each year, the Indian River State College Foundation awards over $3.5 million in scholarships to students who are ready to rise.
The application process is rolling, so you can apply at any time of the year. However, we give priority to early submissions that best meet the scholarship criteria. Scholarships are distributed until all funds are awarded. Visit the Indian River State College Foundation website for more information.

The Promise Program
An investment in your future—covered by The River.
The Promise Program gives eligible local high school graduates the opportunity to attend Indian River State College tuition-free. This program was created to remove financial barriers and help students take their next step with confidence.
- Covers tuition for eligible graduates from public and public charter high schools in our service area
- Applies to associate degree and career training programs
- Supported by generous donors and community partners through the IRSC Foundation
Institutional Scholarships
These scholarships support students in fine arts programs or pursuing bachelor’s degrees at The River.
To apply:
- Complete the FAFSA
- Apply through the Foundation Awarded Portal
Featured Scholarships
- Baccalaureate Academic Scholarship – Covers up to 15 credit hours for A.A./A.S. graduates with a GPA of 3.0+ admitted to a bachelor’s program.
- Fine Arts Scholarships – For students in art, music, dance, theater, or technical theater programs. Awards based on talent.

Many organizations across our region invest in The River’s students. Each program has its own application process and deadlines.

A lottery-funded program rewarding Florida high school graduates for academic achievement.

Keeping Your Scholarship
To maintain eligibility, you must:
- Complete required credit hours each semester
- Maintain the GPA required by your scholarship
- Request review for part-time awards if in a reduced-credit program or final semester
