FORT PIERCE, FL (November 15, 2024) — Indian River State College honored its exceptional faculty, staff, and supporters during the annual Service Awards ceremony held at the College’s Eastman Advanced Workforce Training Complex at its Fort Pierce campus. The event recognized long-standing employees for their dedication and presented distinguished awards aligned with the College's 2022-2025 Strategic Plan.

Strategic Goal Achievement Awards

Indian River State College presented awards to outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the College's strategic initiatives.

  • Michelle Kinggard and Dr. Karen Ng were recognized for their exceptional work in enhancing student learning, improving the learning environment, and boosting retention and completion rates.
  • Alex Arnold was honored for outstanding efforts in raising community awareness and improving access to Indian River State College programs. Dr. Ashley Richmond, Dr. Katie Profeta, and April Litton were celebrated for their collaborative work in advancing institutional effectiveness and strengthening the College's brand.

Distinguished Leadership and Service

The College presented its highest institutional honors to outstanding employees who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to advancing the College's mission through their distinctive contributions:

  • True North Navigator Award: John Crowe received the True North Navigator Award, a prestigious leadership honor for excellence in directing strategic initiatives and fostering an engaging workplace environment aligned with Indian River State College's mission and goals.
  • Peregrine Award: Marilyn McConnell and Todd Fennell were recognized for their exceptional external support and contributions to the College's strategic priorities through their community leadership and partnership.
  • Team Member of the Year Award: Shanice Grant was named Team Member of the Year for consistently exemplifying Indian River State College's core values and demonstrating outstanding service excellence throughout the year.

Service Awards

The ceremony acknowledged 67 full-time employees who have dedicated a decade or more to Indian River State College's mission.

  • 10 years of service: Wendi Lenhard, Walter Posten, Karen Ng, James Aikens, Natalie Pringle, Beatriz Guerrero, Bryan Reuther, Brianne Hutchinson, Emlyn Anderson, William Keiser, Keith Rosenbaum, Michelle Carrigan, Chad Calvert, Katherine Profeta, Tammy Brandt, Mayra Landron, Anthony Slaughter, Kelly Caffery, James Reynolds, Lynn Durocher, and Alexander Omar Shelby.
  • 15 years of dedicated service: Denise Dillon, April Litton, Berenise Medina, Marilu Longoria, Arnulfo Gonzales, Sandra Zavala, Meghan Probstfield, Lucia Decker, Paul Godfrey, Kimberly Zgonc, Kevin Cooper, Holly Macias, Peter Desjarlais, Alexis Carlson, Timothy Jackowski, Christopher McChesney, and Andrew Treadwell.
  • 20 years of service: Karen Mills, Mary Pelletier, Barbara Donaldson, Leslie Simpson, Kimberly Milner, Karen Scotto, Tiffany Lewis, Debra Crowell, Sergio Lopez, William Davis, Elaine Howell, Leslie Sterrett, Maria Salome Davis, Robert Streeper, Dean Wagstaffe, Monique Moleon-Mathews, Edith Pacacha, Adrienne Becker, and John Southall.
  • 25 years: Sera Fini Phillips, Jeraldine Foster Ewing, Michael Platt, James Mason, Barbara Fuller, Herbert Ricardo, and Gary Phillips.

The College also celebrates Eva Allen for 30 years of outstanding service, and honors Dale Hayes for an extraordinary 45-year commitment to the institution.
