FORT PIERCE, Fla., June 24, 2025 – With only three weeks remaining, Indian River State College is encouraging Spring 2025 high school graduates from Martin, St. Lucie, Okeechobee, and Indian River counties to take advantage of the 2025 Promise Program before the July 14, 2025, deadline. The Promise Program offers eligible high school graduates the opportunity to attend college and obtain an associate degree, tuition-free.
Since its launch in 2022, the Promise Program has provided thousands of local students with a direct pathway to higher education without the burden of tuition, representing a significant expansion of educational access for local students throughout the Treasure Coast region. For the upcoming 2025 Promise Program, more than 3,500 high school graduates have already signed the Promise Commitment, emphasizing the impact of the Promise Program on local students pursuing higher education.
Eligible students must:
- Apply – Complete their Indian River State College application and know their Student ID.
- Sign the Promise Commitment.
- Submit Florida Residency Tuition Form (Form FRD-1) – Download and complete via Workday inbox (usually requires a parent/guardian).
- Complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA – Submit at studentaid.gov. Parent info may be required.
- Request OFFICIAL High School Transcripts – Must be sent electronically by your high school directly to Indian River State College (no hard copies).
- Register for Fall Classes – Students must enroll in at least 12 credits to maintain Promise eligibility. Students can speak to an advisor about registering for classes on campus or through QLESS, a virtual queue system.
- RSVP for New Student Orientation – Sign up for New Student Orientation. Students can register at https://connect.irsc.edu/event/356491.
Eligibility for the Promise Program:
- Be a U.S. citizen eligible for in-state tuition or a non-U.S. Citizen eligible for in-state tuition.
- Promise is available at the in-state rate only. Non-Florida residents will be responsible for the out-of-state portion of their tuition and fees.
- Graduate in 2025 from a public or charter high school in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, or St. Lucie County, or from approved private schools or in-district homeschool programs
