At Indian River State College, your military experience could help you earn credit toward your degree or certificate—which means you take fewer classes and graduate faster.

Transfer Credits
If you attended an accredited college while you were in the military, such as Community College of the Air Force or Central Texas College, you could receive credit for classes you completed there.
To qualify, you will need to submit your official school transcripts, which will be evaluated for credit opportunities.
Credit for Military Experiences
To receive credit for your military experiences, you should request an official transcript from the Joint Services Transcript.
Request form for Army, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard
We will evaluate your transcript to determine what experiences will apply directly to your program at The River.
Typically, credits can be awarded toward Associate of Science degree programs.
Competency Credit
Competency credit can be awarded in certain areas, such as criminal justice or health science. The Department of Military and Veteran Services can work with you and your chosen program to determine if you are eligible for competency credit toward your degree or certificate.
