Whether you want to compete for a national athletics championship or just stay in shape, there’s a place for you at the River.

River Intercollegiate Athletics
The River’s intercollegiate teams have racked up a series of unprecedented athletic achievements, including 50 consecutive men’s swimming and diving national championships, 46 women’s swimming and diving national titles, and two softball national championships. We compete in Southern Conference Region 8 of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Whether you aim to be an athlete or a fan, the River is a great place to be.

Intramural Sports
Intramural sports promote social interaction, healthy lifestyles, and student-friendly rivalry through many different forms of competition. The college’s intramural sports program offers a variety of sports including: flag football, volleyball, basketball, racquetball and tennis.
Youth Sports
Opportunities for younger athletes include our youth swim team, the River Rats, and sports camps and clinics for athletes of all skill levels in baseball, basketball, softball, swimming and diving, and volleyball.
RECREATION
Our fitness facilities provide a comprehensive approach to good health and well-being. They are open to all currently enrolled students and employees at no charge. Show your valid Indian River State College ID card, with a current semester sticker, to gain entry.
Student Workout Facility
This weight training and exercise facility, located on the Massey Campus, provides students with a full range of universal weight equipment. Exercise equipment includes cardiovascular machines such as stationary bikes and treadmills.
Aquatics Complex
The aquatics complex includes one 25-yard × 25-meter pool with a diving well and Maxiflex boards and one 50-meter × 25-yard pool. The pools are located on the Massey campus and are available to Indian River State College students, employees and community members.
Other Fitness Services
Students have access to racquetball courts, tennis courts and an outdoor basketball court ion the Massey Campus.
