Employee Benefits

Indian River State College offers full-time, benefit-eligible employees and their eligible dependents a competitive and comprehensive benefits package. IRSC benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement and other supplemental insurance plans. In addition to a broad range of insurance offerings, IRSC employees enjoy a generous paid time off plan, wellness resources, and onsite services available to all employees.

IRSC employees who are eligible to receive benefits may enroll in and make changes to their benefits in Workday. Enrolling is easy, using Workday. New employees will receive a notification through their Workday inbox when they are able to enroll. During the Open Enrollment period (usually October of the preceding year), eligible employees will receive a notification to complete their changes in Workday. Throughout the year, employees who have a qualifying event have 30 days from the date of a qualified change of status event to complete changes to their benefits that are consistent with that event (see FAQs for more information).

Full time employees may elect group medical insurance through Florida Blue and choose from five different medical insurance plans. Full-time employees may also elect to not participate in medical coverage by opting out and selecting the Medical (DV) Waiver option. The medical DV plan is meant for employees who have other medical coverage through another group medical policy, a spouse's employer, or Medicare. Please note, Marketplace coverage is not acceptable. Proof of other coverage must be provided through Workday when enrolling.  For online tools and resources, click here (use Group Number 26769 if prompted).

Full-time employees may elect group dental insurance with the Delta Dental PPO plan.

The College offers a voluntary vision plan for full-time employees through Humana. With open access to see any eyecare provider, you can see the one who’s right for you (no pun intended!). Eligible IRSC employees have the option to enroll in other supplemental insurance plans, including:

Flexible spending, life insurance for employee and dependents, disability, bereavement coverage, employee assistance and identity theft coverage, along with several other insurance options, including AFLAC Insurance. Please see a member of the IRSC Benefits & Wellness Team for more information.

Employees have the option to contribute on a voluntary basis to a variety of tax sheltered accounts such as the 403(b), Roth 403(b) post tax and/or a 457(b) Deferred Compensation plan.
