Indian River State College (IRSC) offers eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package. Beyond the entitlements of Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment Compensation and Workers’ Compensation, it also offers a variety of insurance, retirement and miscellaneous benefit plans.
Insurance plans include medical, dental, life, accidental death and long term disability. Retirement plans include the defined benefit Florida Retirement System (FRS) Pension Plan and defined-contribution FRS Investment Plan. IRSC also offers the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP), a defined contribution plan, to eligible administrators and faculty employees.
Employees have the option to contribute on a voluntary basis to a variety of tax sheltered accounts such as the 403(b), Roth 403(b) post tax and/or a 457(b) Deferred Compensation plan. Supplemental insurances are also available. These include short-term disability, accident, cancer, long-term care, vision and voluntary term life insurance for which the employee pays the full premium.
Additionally, IRSC offers employees miscellaneous benefits such as tuition reimbursement and health & wellness resources.
At the discretion of the College, employees are eligible to use athletic facilities, the libraries and learning resource centers.
Adjunct Faculty Benefits
Indian River State College (IRSC) offers adjunct faculty employees the State of Florida FICA Alternative Retirement Plan, tax-deferred retirement savings plans, tuition reimbursement and Worker’s Compensation benefits.
