2025 Open Enrollment is Here!
October 14 - November 1, 2024
Our commitment to the state health insurance conversion is absolute, and we are thrilled to offer this to our valued employees. Nearly all eligible employees will experience significant cost savings when switching to a comparable plan.
Employees and retirees of Indian River State College can now take advantage of the state’s superior insurance plan.
The DMS website (mybenefits.myflorida.com) provides plan information and specifics related to your available options. The People First website (peoplefirst.myflorida.com) is where you will enroll and make your benefit selections.

- Select and opt in during Open Enrollment if you wish to retain benefits as of January 1, 2025.
- You MUST log on to People First and enroll in order to continue any medical insurance plans in 2025. All eligible employees must elect benefits or they will be without them for the plan year 2025. Open enrollment is October 14 - November 1, 2024. You must complete your enrollment before 6:00 PM on Friday, November 1, 2024 in order to be covered.
- Dependent eligibility requires submitting documentation. Please see the documentation requirements, Dependent Eligibility Verification

State Health Plan Session Presentation
The following employee group is eligible for the State Plan:
- Full-time, regular employees: Eligible to enroll for 2025.
To determine your employee group, please review your employment details in Workday:
- Log in to Workday and view your Profile
- Under Job Details, check your:
- Employee Type (e.g., Regular, Temporary, Temporary with Benefits)
- Time Type (e.g., Full time, Part time)
Your spouse, child, stepchild, foster child, and others can be considered dependents if they meet specific eligibility criteria. Learn more about dependent eligibility.
Dependent examples include:
- A spouse is the person to whom you are legally married.
- Your child is eligible until age 26.
- Your stepchild is the child of your spouse to whom you are legally married, until age 26.
- Over-age dependents may be eligible if they meet specific criteria.
Any dependent information currently stored within Workday will not transfer. All dependents must be added to the People First portal during open enrollment.

The State of Florida offers comprehensive health coverage to meet the needs of you and your family through a variety of health plans. Each plan is focused on helping you stay healthy through preventive care benefits as well as providing access to healthcare services when you need them. Each option covers most of the same types of health services, but provides those services and shares costs with you in a different way.
Your work location OR county of residence will drive HMO plan choices. A map is available on the DMS site. The PPO plan is available to all counties & out of state employees.

- Benefit fairs are held throughout the state during open enrollment. Indian River State College will host a State Health Fair on October 25th at the Massey Campus.

How to Enroll:
1 – Prepare for Open Enrollment. You will receive your login information via US postal mail from People First to your address on file with IRSC. This includes your People First ID number and the information needed to set up your password. It is very important that you retain this information. You will need it to register for benefits.
2 – Enroll During 2025 Open Enrollment. Enroll between October 14 – November 1, 2024 using People First online via the link or Mobile App. You must opt-in during open enrollment to receive benefits in 2025.
3 – Upload Dependent Eligibility Documents. Eligibility documents can be uploaded to People First online via the website, mobile app or mailed to the People First Service Center during Open Enrollment and up to 90 days after registering a dependent.
Any dependent information currently stored within Workday will not transfer.
In any communication with People First you should always include your People First ID number.
