Kathy Davis, Research and Institutional Effectiveness Director of Planning and Development, is the Indian River State College February 2024 Team Member of the Month. Kathy joined the IRSC team in January 1998 as an Adjunct Instructor in Mathematics before starting full-time as the Director of Planning and Assessment in 2010, where she still serves today.
Kathy serves several important roles at the institution. First, she is charged with overseeing and facilitating all planning and assessment activities including program learning outcomes assessment, student services outcomes assessment and administrative assessment.
Kathy also serves as the Strategic Planning Online Administrator, ensuring that the planning units reflect the organization of the College and making changes as necessary.
In addition, Kathy serves as the lead for all surveys at the institution including student surveys of faculty, and institutional surveys of students. She analyzes all related data and prepares a report for distribution or shares results.
Another important supporting role that Kathy provides is to help with all accreditation work. She pulls reports and data from Workday to complete the arduous task of identifying the percentage of every academic program the College offers at each of its campuses and off campus instructional sites.
An expert data analyst gifted with sound writing abilities, Kathy worked for two years to shape our SACSCOC compliance narrative. She is a committed employee who goes beyond her job requirements regularly to support the mission of the institution.
Among College employees, Kathy is well-known as an exceptional resource – the person many folks “go to” when they need assistance developing and documenting their annual assessment / improvement plan.
Kathy’s colleagues describe her as “wise, thoughtful, and helpful,” and they are so thankful that she is committed to the work of Research and Institutional Effectiveness.
