Fort Pierce resident Elizabeth “Becky” Russakis is being recognized as the Indian River State College November Staff Employee of the Month. Becky began employment with IRSC in June 1991 as a Clerk I, earning promotion to Clerk II in August 1995. Becky moved into the role of an Admissions Assistant III in August 1997, and Admissions Assistant IV in August 2003. In August 2007, Becky then became the Technical Training Coordinator and earned a promotion to Technical Training Coordinator I in 2013.
Starting in Admissions, Becky served as the trainer for the Mariner system for all new employees. As the College transitioned Workday, Becky quickly transitioned from her training role with Mariner to one as a problem-solver with the new system. Ask Becky to figure out why something looks or behaves the way it does, and she will analyze, study, and diagnose the problem at hand—shedding light on underlying issues to find a resolution. Becky is well-versed with Workday Student and assists users daily. She is detail-oriented and goes well beyond expectations to serve IRSC students in the best possible way.
Becky works with Enrollment and Student Services and the Workday team to conduct various training sessions and assist with training materials to ensure they are accurate and up-to-date. She studies items under consideration for development and does endless testing on features in new releases before they hit production. She additionally receives, reviews, and resolves errors in student-submitted data used in state reporting of student information to ensure the college shares accurate information.
Becky’s co-workers are among the first to share what a valued member of the IRSC team she is. One states, “Becky’s behind the scenes contributions might get overlooked, but I’ve personally been witness to her exemplary work ethic and seen the results of her hard work.” Another co-worker adds, “Becky is meticulous, dedicated, innovative, conscientious, friendly, and a genuine team player willing to assist with any request.” Rounding out the accolades, another colleague affirms, “Becky understands the significance of her work and her education.” They continue sharing, “After serving the College for more than 28 years, Becky has earned her bachelor’s degree from IRSC—an accomplishment achieved while working full-time hours and making time for her family. I am so delighted to recognize her!”
