Indian River State College recognizes Vero Beach resident Casey Dillahay as the April 2019 Staff Employee of the Month. Casey first joined IRSC part-time in November 2012 as a Registration Assistant I and was soon promoted to a full-time position as a Registration Assistant II in September 2013.
Those working with Casey know her to be an inspiring example of a student-centered employee, whose dedication to our students doesn’t stop at the end of the day. Casey takes a holistic approach to student success, taking the time needed to guide students with a full perspective from start to finish. She has been known to take the time to answer email inquiries from students both after hours from home and on her days off to make sure they find the answers they need. The students who visit Mueller Campus recognize and trust Casey to assist them in getting the academic and registration assistance they need to accomplish their goals.
Additionally, Casey assists with Dual Enrollment and manages the Self-Service Registration Room in a way that helps students accomplish their registration process in an expedited manner. Casey has also been instrumental in helping students during the transition to Workday, and she is an exemplary employee who keeps a positive attitude which encourages her co-workers to do the same. Casey recently earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration at IRSC, allowing her to view the admissions and registration process through the eyes of a student. Along with her husband, Casey is raising three teenagers—two of which are currently Dual Enrollment students with the College.
Casey’s Mueller Campus compatriots are always ready to share a testimonial about her dedication to our students and the College. One of her co-worker shares, “She always gives each student the undivided attention they deserve, and I admire the sincerity, perseverance, and diligence she shows with each student she comes in contact with.” Another states, “Casey is so kind and works hard to contribute to the family feeling the Mueller Campus shares.” Finally, another co-worker adds, “Casey is an outstanding person! Her kind and gentle demeanor make it a pleasure to alongside her each day.”
