Fort Pierce resident Chrys Panayiotou is the Indian River State College August 2020 Staff Employee of the Month. Chrys began working at IRSC in December 2008 as a part-time Clerk in the Rivershop, where he served until August 2012. After a short time away, he returned to the College full-time in August of 2013 to take a position in Enterprise Systems—where today he serves as a Workday Technical Analyst.
Chrys is a calm, collected individual who applies logic and creativity to every challenge he meets. A valued Enterprise Systems team member, he is heavily relied upon and always makes it a priority to share his knowledge for the betterment of the team and entire College. Chrys has been instrumental in the design, development and rollout of multiple Workday reporting and analytics initiatives. He does not shy away from a challenge and combines his institutional knowledge and Workday skillset to help with College operations ranging from Human Resources to Finance, from Student Records to Financial Aid and Student Financials. Chrys is also a key contributor in the effort to restructure reports to aid in the transition from DSS to Workday as the source of data. In even the most challenging situations, he is one that loves his job and enjoys solving the puzzle.
Chrys’s colleagues eagerly share what an asset he is to their work and how his knowledge and skillset contribute to student success at IRSC. One employee states, “Chrys is an invaluable part of our department. Whenever I have a question or need help, he always makes himself available.” They continue, “He works tirelessly to find effective and efficient solutions to student records issues in Workday.” Another adds, “I went to Chrys to see if he had any ideas on how to gather data I needed—before I knew it, he developed a custom report that was exactly what I needed to get the job done.” Finally, a co-worker acknowledges Chrys’s contributions stating, “He is very helpful, quick to respond to requests and can easily add or revise anything in a report when needed. Chrys makes the work at my department possible—without the data he provides us, we would have nothing to track the current enrollment, success and outcomes of our students.”
