Christina Juarez Named August 2018 Staff Employee of the Month

Indian River State College recognizes Okeechobee resident Christina Juarez, Registration Assistant I
Dixon Hendry Campus, Okeechobee, as the August 2018 Staff Employee of the Month. Christina joined the IRSC team in
November of 2012 starting as a Clerk before becoming an Instructional Aide and then
a Technical Assistant. Today she serves in the role of Registration Assistant I as
part of the team at the Dixon Hendry Campus led by Provost Russ Brown.
Christina’s co-workers know that she pays close attention to detail, allowing her to work efficiently and handle many tasks at once. Have a conversation anyone who works with Christina and you will hear about an employee who handles her assignments with confidence and accuracy, and demonstrates continuous improvement. Thriving in her role as a Registration Assistant, Christina is now developing “next level” relationships with students. Her dedicated work with students helps encourage them to believe in themselves and gives them a greater comfort level throughout their college experience, leading to greater success. In addition to her role as Registration Assistant. Christina wears many hats: assisting with social media for the Dixon Hendry Campus Facebook page, cashiering, recruiting, financial aid, scholarships, schedules, room assignments, and more.
Christina’s colleagues happily share what a great addition to the IRSC team she is, and how she positively impacts the student experience at Dixon Hendry. “When a student comes to Christina looking for assistance she takes the time needed to instill confidence in their ability to succeed in their goals and provide the support they need,” shares one of Christina’s co-workers. Another adds, “Christina is a real contributor to the positive environment on campus our students thrive in.” Finally, a co-worker states, “Christina welcomes everyone with a smile and provides prompt and efficient service to anyone in need. Whether it be a visitor to campus, a local resident while she’s out and about, or an inquirer on social media, Christina never fails to represent IRSC in the best light, lending a hand (or a listening ear), as she helps our students make their dreams a reality.”
