Juliana King Named July 2018 Staff Employee of the Month

Indian River State College recognizes Fort Pierce resident Juliana King as the July 2018 Staff Employee of the Month. Juliana officially became a part of the IRSC family when she was hired as the Nursing Laboratory Specialist in September 2017 and has been an indispensable member of the Nursing Department team in part-time roles for over 10 years, first as a Technical Assistant and then as a Clerk I.
Juliana is known to be detail oriented and organized, and her technology skills are a true asset to the department. In her time with the Nursing Program Juliana has served in multiple roles including her work in the nursing lab, inputting nursing applications, maintaining confidential records, working with students in the orientation process, and more. Whatever her role, Juliana consistently exceeds expectations, goes the extra mile, finds solutions, fixes things, and embraces new roles with a positive attitude.
Julianna currently conducts the monthly information sessions for the Nursing Department working with students interested in pursuing a career in nursing. When interacting with students Juliana is very approachable, which allows them to be comfortable asking questions pertaining to the program. Julianna has also participated in many recruitment activities such as Great Explorations, local agencies hosting nursing week, and employability week. She is also active in her church community.
Juliana’s co-workers are the first to relate what a positive impact she makes at the College. “Juliana makes me glad to come to work! It is so important to be acknowledged and greeted in a cheerful manner, and that’s how she works with everyone.” They continue saying, “That pleasant attitude keeps us all on the same level.” Another shares, “She happily works the front line of the department greeting students and helping them with their needs.” Finally, a co-worker excited about Julianna’s accomplishment completing her degree adds, “Juliana finished her A.A. Degree at IRSC and walked across the commencement stage. So Proud!”
