Lila White Named September 2018 Staff Employee of the Month

Indian River State College recognizes Port St. Lucie resident Lila White as the September 2018 Staff Employee of the Month. Lila joined the IRSC family in June of 2005 working as a Counselor I for the Women’s Development Center. Additionally during this time she served as an adjunct instructor. Today Lila works as a Program Specialist II in the Business Technology Division led by Dr. Prashanth Pilly.
In her role as Program Specialist, Lila is known as an individual who consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty to serve both faculty and students. Lila is a thorough and meticulous planner, and can be found working behind the scenes planning and preparing for many programs and activities occurring within the Business Technology Division. Lila has also become an integral part of the accounting department, assisting both faculty and students. Lila successfully runs the Summer Programs Expanding Horizons in Okeechobee and the QUEST in Fort Pierce. In whatever role she serves, Lila steps in wherever necessary to help move the entire division forward.
In addition to her regular duties Lila works closely with the Sigma Beta Delta (SBD) Honors Society and assists in planning the annual Money Show University trip organized by the Investment Club. She also serves as a member of the Planning and Assessment Workgroup.
Those who work with Lila know best share how she contributes to the success of Business Technology Division IRSC. One co-worker states, “Lila is the hardworking heart and soul of our division and always willing to lend a hand and help our students.” They continue sharing, “She is an optimistic professional who always has the interest of the college and division first.” Another shares, “She was instrumental in increasing the accounting department partnerships with the professional accounting community in our community.” Finally, one employee states, “Lila is the true definition of a Team Player and always leaves us with a positive quote, stating ‘Teamwork makes the dreamwork.’”
