Fort Pierce, FL (January 23, 2026) — Indian River State College has promoted five academic leaders to Executive Dean positions as part of a strategic reorganization designed to create clearer pathways for student success and strengthen workforce preparation.
Scott Stein, Anthony Dribben, Lou Caprino, Patty Gagliano, and James Howse will lead the College’s newly streamlined academic divisions: Liberal Arts; Science, Engineering & Math; Public Services; Health & Human Sciences; and Business & Applied Technologies respectively.
The College has consolidated Academic Affairs from 10 separate units into five integrated divisions, making it easier for students to navigate their educational journey and connect with the resources they need to succeed.
“This restructuring is all about putting our students first,” said Provost Heather Belmont. “By simplifying our structure and aligning programs with career opportunities, we’re creating clearer pathways from enrollment to employment.”
President Timothy Moore emphasized the student-centered approach: “Our students deserve an institution that’s responsive, efficient, and focused on their success. These changes ensure we can better serve them and prepare them for meaningful careers on the Treasure Coast and beyond.”
The reorganization supports expanded access to workforce training, micro-credentials, and Adult and Continuing Education programs overseen by new Executive Dean Stephanie Etter. Each Executive Dean will focus on connecting students with industry partners and career opportunities in their respective fields, ensuring that all program offerings align with regional workforce needs.
