The Piper Aircraft Apprenticeship Program, presented in partnership with Indian River State College, offers students the chance to earn while receiving a comprehensive education. Apprentices learn all aspects of fabrication and assembly of aircraft, they attend technical classes and receive hands-on training designed to qualify successful program completers as Journeymen in Aircraft Assembly.
This two-year program is registered by the Department of Education Division of Career and Adult Education. The program utilizes a cooperative method of instruction, requiring on-the-job training for which the student receives compensation, and classroom instruction.
Aviation Apprenticeship Career Training
This apprenticeship (clock-hour) program features advanced, on-the-job training with Piper Aircraft in Vero Beach, Florida, complete with compensation and benefits, plus relevant IRSC-delivered coursework that can lead to an Associate Degree. For course descriptions, see the College Catalog.
Once You Complete the Program
The two-year Aircraft Structure, Surfaces, Rigging and Systems Assembler Apprenticeship is designed to build careers for future Piper leaders. At the end of the training, students take exams to become qualified Journeymen and are poised to eventually take on supervisory and management roles at Piper.
