Port St. Lucie resident Antonia Petit-Frere is the Indian River State College February 2023 Team Member of the Month. Antonia first joined the IRSC family in March 2014 as a part-time Admissions/Records Assistant I before joining the team full-time to serve as Assistant Registrar—the position she holds today.
In her 8-years in the Student Records Department, Antonia has earned a reputation as a team member who takes the extra steps to provide a concierge experience for IRSC students. Antonia is highly skilled in Education Verifications, working closely with the National Student Clearinghouse so that IRSC students and graduates get prompt confirmation of enrollment and degree completions. Antonia also excels at performing archive research for students going back into Mariner, SINS, and even microfiche records to respond to inquiries.
Antonia additionally takes the lead with duplicate records and match/merge processes in Workday—critical to ensuring recent applicants who attended previously can move forward with complete academic records intact. She is also the go-to person regarding tuition waivers. She calculates credit hours for eligibility and helps many students who would not have been able to attend IRSC without this critical assistance. Antonia also expertly handles athletic eligibility, performing eligibility GPA calculations and collecting all appropriate documentation to ensure that IRSC always meets the NJCAA’s stringent requirements for filing eligibility.
Antonia’s colleagues share how integral to the Student Records team she is. “We could not survive without her!” declares one co-worker. “Antonia is friendly, cooperative, and kind—she loves helping our students and ensures they have everything they need when needed.” Another adds, “Antonia is well-deserving of recognition, and she always looks great in a hat!”
