The past six decades, marked by exceptional growth and advancement, include the evolution of Indian River State College from a small junior college into a comprehensive community college, to one of Florida’s first four-year state colleges, to Aspen prize-winning ‘Top College in the Nation’!

Celebrating 60 Years of Student Success

“The past 60 years have represented an age of incredible change and progress, and Indian River State College is proud to have served the needs of our students and our community throughout,” remarks IRSC President Dr. Edwin Massey. “Our strong commitment to student success has never wavered. More than one million students have walked through our doors, increasing their earning power and improving their quality of life. “

IRSC will mark its diamond anniversary in a number of ways throughout the year. Events planned throughout 2020 will recognize the leading role the College has played in the development of our region and extraordinary impact IRSC it has had on tens-of-thousands of students. A digital timeline available on the IRSC website and a special section in the March issue of Indian River Magazine will chronicle College history.

The College invites community members to mark their calendars for the IRSC 60th Anniversary Block Party, taking place on Main Campus in Fort Pierce on Saturday, May 16, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This free event will feature live entertainment, food trucks, fun and educational activities for children and teens, as well tours and tips for anyone interested in attending college.
