STUART—Jasmine Nunez, a student at the Clark Advanced Learning Center, has been named Martin County’s 2023 Sunshine State Scholar.
The Florida Department of Education program seeks to identify the top high school juniors in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The program asks each school district in Florida to select its top 11th graders in STEM, based on established criteria.
These students, along with their parents, will convene on April 13-15 in Orlando to
receive recognition for their achievements. While there, the scholars also meet with
representatives from Florida’s colleges and universities and learn about STEM-related
programs of study and internships.
Nunez will be recognized at the Martin County School Board meeting on January 17.
“We were thrilled to learn of Jasmine earning this well-deserved recognition,” said Dr. Leslie Judd, Executive Director and Principal of Clark Advanced Learning Center. “She is a stellar all-around student and has proven to be among the best in advanced science and math courses.”
