Writing Contest Open for High School Students

High school students in Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee counties are invited to participate in the annual Creative Writing Contest hosted by the English/Communications/Modern Languages Department at Indian River State College (IRSC). The deadline to submit entries is Monday, February 17.
Contestants can enter one of three categories: short stories, one-act plays or poems. Awards are presented by category for each grade level, and seniors will be eligible to win one of two IRSC scholarships. All winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony March 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Brown Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship on the IRSC Main Campus in Fort Pierce.
