Indian River State College students, faculty and staff all enjoyed a “Day at the Ballpark” where the College was delighted to have past students Larry Howard and Mary Huff throw out the honorary first pitches at homefield baseball and softball games on Friday, February 12.

Larry Howard serves as Brighton Councilman, Tribal Council–Seminole Tribe of Florida. Mary Huff is alumnae of the IRSC softball team and a First Team All-Southern Conference pitcher. Additionally, two-time National League All-Star player—and hometown favorite—Charles Johnson greeted players and fans before the start of the games.
Both the Baseball and Softball teams are off to solid starts this year. Indian River baseball is ready for conference play and the softball team is in contention for a Southern Conference Championship and spot at the state tournament held in Sanford this May.
