Port St. Lucie resident Ingrid Almonte is the Indian River State College December 2023 Team Member of the Month. Ingrid first joined the IRSC team in January of 2021 to serve in the role of Custodian as part of the Physical Plant and Maintenance Custodial team.
Ingrid works in Crews Hall, also known as the W building, one of the first buildings on campus seen by many new and prospective students. IRSC custodial staff often work behind the scenes, but their jobs are vital to the operation of the College. Clean and attractive College facilities are essential to a healthy, desirable environment, and Ingrid works hard in that endeavor. She has a positive attitude, and always shares a smile with those she sees. Ingrid is dependable, punctual and is a great role model for her co-workers. Her commitment to using the highest Custodial standards and practices each day provide an outstanding example for new employees to follow.
Ingrid receives many compliments from her co-workers about how nice she keeps the Crews Hall. During peak registration months, the building has more traffic than any other space on any IRSC campus, yet it is always pristine, thanks in large part to the hard work Ingrid does.
Ingrid’s co-workers readily share the positive impact she has each day and how she cares deeply about our students. A co-worker voices, “Ingrid is always on the move cleaning floors, windows, doors, bathrooms, offices; emptying trash; sweeping or blowing entrances and sidewalks.” “Not only does she work hard, she is also incredibly pleasant,” states another. They continue sharing, “Ingrid greets everyone she passes with a big smile and a welcoming, ‘Hello,’ and I’m sure she is often the first individual that people see when entering the building.” Thank you, Ingrid, for all you do for the staff, students and visitors you welcome to Indian River State College daily!
