IRSC Launches New Event & Venue Management Certification in Conjunction with AAG Live

FORT PIERCE, FL— Indian River State College (IRSC) has partnered with AAG Live—an internationally renowned, full-service production company made up of live event, broadcast and recording industry professionals—to offer a new Event & Venue Management Certification, part of the IRSC Associate Degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management. The specialized curriculum—26 consecutive days of hands-on learning and classroom instruction—mirrors the intensity of a standard live event and entertainment schedule. Program completers earn 12 credits toward the IRSC A.S. Degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management and 16 industry certifications.

Students in the Event & Venue Management Certification program receive elite instruction designed and taught by professionals in the field and work with professional industry gear. In addition to taking four college-credit courses that together provide a foundation for a career in the hospitality and tourism sector, students train for the following industry certifications:

“We are delighted to partner with AAG Live to bring this one-of-a-kind program to our region as part of our Hospitality & Tourism Management program,” declares Mueller Campus President Casey Lunceford. “The live events industry is fast-paced and challenging. Collaborating with AAG Live allows our students to learn from the best in the industry while getting all of the educational and wrap-around support they need from the College, including assistance with Financial Aid and Veteran Benefits. We invite the public to learn more at information sessions planned for later this month.”

IRSC is hosting information sessions at Mueller Campus, 6155 College Lane in Vero Beach, on the evenings of Wednesday, March 10, for Veterans and working adults, and Wednesday, March 24, for high school students and recent high school graduates. AAG Live will stage a live rock concert outside of the Richardson Center from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. to demonstrate the skills needed to make live entertainment and events a career. The demonstration will be followed by a question and answer session inside the Richardson Center auditorium.

Event & Venue Management Certification programs start monthly (except for November and December) at the IRSC Mueller Campus in Vero Beach. Enrollment for the April class is currently open.
