The Indian River State College (IRSC) Foundation will host the third annual Pioneer 5K Run/Walk at the IRSC Pruitt Campus in St. Lucie West on Saturday, October 24 at 7:30 a.m. The Pioneer 5k Run/Walk provides a unique opportunity for both beginning and experienced runners—as well as for those just coming out to enjoy themselves—all in support of scholarships for IRSC students.
Mike Melton, from MCM Timing & Results LLC, returns to conduct official course operations and timing. This year’s race will be conducted with staggered start times to encourage distancing. The $30 registration includes event shirts and finisher awards for participants. Event proceeds support IRSC student scholarships.
“We are looking forward to our third annual Pioneer 5K Run/Walk. Last year we raised more than $7,000 in support of scholarships for IRSC students,” shares John Crowe, IRSC Alumni Development Coordinator. “We eagerly anticipate seeing the community come out to help support our current and future students.”
Participants can register for the event, create a new team or join a current team, see the latest COVID-19 health and safety precautions, and find information on event sponsorship at www.irscfoundation.org/5k.
