John Barbieri is the July 2022 Team Member of the Month

Fort Pierce resident John Barbieri is the Indian River State College July 2022 Team Member of the Month. John joined the IRSC family in November 1996 as a Groundsman, earning several promotions, including his appointment to the position of Physical Plant Supervisor in 2005. Today John serves as the Director of Physical Plant/Maintenance.

John has always met the highest standards of performance in fulfilling the responsibilities of his duties and has proven to be a valued member of the IRSC team. John provides the College with an exemplary level of hard work and dedication paired with a positive attitude that impacts everyone around him—never wavering in his commitment to excellence and the mission of the IRSC. He is highly talented and a genuine teammate, always ready to respond to any arising challenges.

John exhibits a friendly, helpful attitude as he leads and assigns work for the Maintenance and Grounds staff across the College and effectively coordinates a myriad of projects on time and under budget with countless vendors, contractors, architects, and engineers. John has extensive expertise in landscape projects, and he strives for the continued beautification of IRSC campuses. This work supports an attractive learning environment that contributes to student success.

Those who know and work directly with John recount his impact on IRSC and how he reflects the IRSC brand on campus and in the community. “John is an exemplary example of a team player who offers his expertise to all areas/departments and makes himself personally available to those that need help. He constantly asks what he can do to help.” They continue, saying, “John is a powerful ambassador for IRSC, and needless to say, he constantly sets the right example for all employees, and his attitude is equally contagious!”
