Latest Ratings Confirm WQCS–FM is the Most Listened to Station on the Treasure Coast

WQCS 88.9 FM, a public radio station licensed to Indian River State College (IRSC), is the most listened to station on the Treasure Coast according to the Nielsen Company. In the Spring 2021 Nielsen survey, the station achieved a 6.4 market share—a full two shares ahead of the nearest station in the area.

“Once again, the Treasure Coast has shown its support and affinity for NPR News and Talk, Classical Music, and local news and information,” said Chris Puorro, WQCS Station Manager. “It’s an honor to serve our listeners and supporters every day.”

WQCS is the home of NPR programs like “All Things Considered”, “Fresh Air” and “Morning Edition.” WQCS also features local programming like “Treasure Coast Happenings” and “Jazz On The Treasure Coast.” The station is a member of the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network and is the state-designated Emergency Alert Station for the area.

Situated at IRSC’s Massey Campus in Fort Pierce, WQCS provides public service programming that informs, educates and entertains the community. At 100,000 watts, the station serves a listening area from northern Palm Beach County to Melbourne. It is a member of National Public Radio and Florida Public Broadcasting Service, and affiliated with Public Radio International, American Public Media and the Associated Press.
