Judy Diaz is the June 2021 Staff Employee of the Month

Port St. Lucie resident Judy Diaz is the Indian River State College June 2021 Staff Employee of the Month. Judy began employment as a Clerk I with the IRSC Health Science Division in August of 2018. Judy now works as the Division’s admissions coordinator—serving more than 1,300 students each year.
Judy is a shining example of a student-centered employee. As an admissions coordinator Judy, is responsible for maintaining confidential information that includes physicals, immunization, drug screens, backgrounds checks and much more. Judy is always willing to make the time to help students with the application process, taking a step-by-step approach to help with items that may be confusing to a student. Additionally, Judy is bilingual and uses her language skills to assist Spanish-speaking students translate information and to assist faculty in translating instructional materials. Judy has also worked with Enterprise Systems in the conversion of the Health Science admission process to Workday.
Judy is committed to lifelong learning and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services. Her experience as a student allows her to better understand the needs and concerns of the students she works with daily while she expands her knowledge base to excel both personally and professionally.
Judy’s co-workers gladly share their commendation on how she makes a daily difference in the lives of the faculty, staff, administration and students she serves. “Judy is very special. She makes everyone she works with feel comfortable and valued—epically our students,” shares one co-worker. Another states, “Judy always take the time to help, no matter how large or small the request.” Finally, one colleague states, “Judy is always pleasant to work with, regardless of who she is dealing with, and she instills a confidence in IRSC the way only the best employees can do!” Congratulations Judy!
