Lynne O'Dell is the April 2022 Team Member of the Month

Vero Beach resident Lynne O’Dell is the Indian River State College April 2022 Team Member of the Month. Lynne joined the IRSC family in June 2012 part-time as an Instructional Aide before being brought on full-time as the Quality Enhancement Plan Manager in September 2013. Lynne began work as Campus Director at Mueller Campus in July 2021 prior being named the Project Director of the new STEM Pioneers program in November.

Lynne demonstrates leadership in every role she has taken on at IRSC. That leadership includes her latest work with the STEM Pioneers program, her active participation in groups, activities, and events, such as the IRSC Women's Conference, Great Explorations, and her work to build strong relationships with local high schools. She is a valued asset to the institution and welcomes everyone with an open door, and serves as a mentor for others.

The STEM Pioneers program greatly expands IRSC’s capacity to help underrepresented students excel as it strives to take a holistic approach to support Hispanic and low-income students throughout their educational journey with the goal of increasing student success. As the STEM Pioneer Project Director, Lynne already has shown her “Pioneer Pride,” as she strives to see the program reach its potential and collaborates across divisions, hires more student support, and does what it takes to ensure students succeed.

Lynne’s IRSC family best share praise the for the personal and professional contributions she makes. “I began working closely with Lynne as a part of QEP. From the start, her work ethic, professionalism, and passion shined through,” states one co-worker. “Lynne worked to ensure we made sound, data-driven decisions—with student success always as her driving factor.”
