OKEECHOBEE, FL— Indian River State College is bringing its Correctional Basic Recruit Training program to its Dixon Hendry Campus in Okeechobee. The class will be held Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 2229 NW 9th Avenue in Okeechobee from June 13 through September 13, 2022.

The Correctional Officer Basic Recruit Training program consists of 444 hours of training and lasts approximately four months. The Institute is the regional leader in providing this type of training and is certified by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to conduct authorized Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission courses.”

The Corrections Academy is a selective-admissions program. Prospective students should review the IRSC Criminal Justice Selection Center Policy Manual before applying. For more information, contact Christina Juarez at 863-824-6005 or cjuarez@irsc.edu.
