Indian River State College Foundation Announces 2025 Promise Cup Golf Tournament to Support Promise Program

March 25, 2025 Indian River State College

Fort Pierce, FL (March 25, 2025) – The Indian River State College Foundation announces its Promise Cup Golf Tournament fundraiser scheduled for Friday, May 16, 2025, at the PGA Golf Club at PGA Village in Port St. Lucie. The event will feature a 9 a.m. shotgun start and is expected to host 120 participants who will be raising money to support the Indian River State College Promise Program.

The Promise Cup serves as an important fundraising initiative for the Promise Program, which provides Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee County students the opportunity to earn an associate college degree tuition-free at Indian River State College. Since its inception, the program has helped thousands of local students access higher education.

"Our 2025 golf tournament at PGA Village presents an opportunity for our community to directly influence the future of local students,” said Ryan C. Abernethy, Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. “Every tournament participant and sponsor contributes to the Indian River State College Promise Program, which has already positively impacted the lives of thousands in our four counties by making college education accessible -- regardless of financial constraints. When sponsors and golfers tee off on May 16, they can enjoy a premier golfing experience while simultaneously creating tuition-free pathways for students to pursue their educational dreams. This is an investment not only in our local students, but also in our community and its future.”

"Every swing helps remove financial barriers to higher education for students across our four-county region.
