IRSC Remembers Drew Mellow

It is with sadness that we share with you the passing of WQCS Morning Edition Host Drew Mello.

Despite the fact that he got up well before the sun each weekday, he was always at his best both on the air and in person. Drew’s smooth voice and sense of humor helped so many of us get our day off to a great start. Whether it was the location of morning traffic crashes or information during a threatening hurricane, Drew helped to keep us informed with his calm voice and clear delivery of information

Drew came to WQCS in 2005 just after hurricane Wilma and quickly became the voice of knowledge and reason. He enjoyed keeping up on current events, listening to jazz, watching sports, eating good food, drinking good wine and seeing the humor in everyday situations.

Memorial Information:

A viewing will be held Thursday, March 7 at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Merritt Island, FL at 10 a.m.. A service will follow at 11:00. Drew’s brother, Father Matthew Mello asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Divine Mercy Catholic Academy because of Drew’s support of Catholic education.
