IRSC Child Development Center Students Reach for the Stars

May 25, 2023 Robert Lane

Parents, teachers, and the College community gathered at the McAlpin Fine Arts Center on Friday, May 19, for the IRSC Child Development Center end-of-year ceremony and preschool graduation. Sixteen of IRSC’s youngest Pioneers earned their Pre-K diplomas, and the Center’s three- and two-year-old classes joined with the Pre-K graduates on-stage to take the assembled audience on an exciting journey through space. The audience enjoyed a perfectly less-than-perfect performance as students shared songs about the stars, sun, moon, and planets.

High-quality preschool is an essential difference maker in the success of a child. IRSC is investing more in future generations by opening a new Child Development Center for the Fall 2023 school year. The new Center will provide quality, low-cost education and care for the children of IRSC students, employees and community members. It also will provide hands-on learning experiences for college students enrolled in IRSC Early Childhood Education programs.
