Programs for High School Students and Younger
With our programs for high school and middle school students, you can build the skills and confidence to help you succeed in college.
Dual Enrollment
Are you a high school student interested in taking college classes? With The River’s Dual Enrollment program, you can earn credits while you’re still working toward your high school diploma.
College Readiness Programs/TRIO
TRIO and college readiness support students from disadvantaged backgrounds reach college and succeed. Programs for middle and high school students include the Educational Opportunity Center, Educational Talent Search and Upward Bound.
Career Pathways Programs
The Career Pathways Programs help high school students get a jump start on career training. Through this program, you can take classes through a career academy located on your high school campus.
STEM Pioneers
The STEM Pioneers program is designed to assist Hispanic and economically disadvantaged students who want to pursue a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics. Through this program, you can earn your associate’s degree at The River and then transfer to the University of Florida for your bachelor’s degree with the help of advisors and mentors.
Programs for College-Age Students and Older
These programs are for students who are entering college or are returning to college after working for some time. With The River’s help, you can start or change careers with a new degree or certificate.
TRIO
TRIO programs help students from disadvantaged backgrounds succeed in college. Through TRIO, you can get personalized support and coaching to reach your goals.
Programs for Military Members and Veterans
The River is proud to support our military and veteran students. We’ll help you navigate the paperwork and requirements to use your VA education benefits.
Project STAGE
Project STAGE is for students with intellectual disabilities who want to experience college and gain valuable skills.
Farmworkers Program
Our Farmworkers Program helps seasonal workers and their families transition to full-time, year-round jobs.
Educator Preparation Institute
Get fast-track career training to work as a teacher or administrator in education through the Educator Preparation Institute.
Lincoln Park Career Pathways Initiative
Start your new career sooner with the Lincoln Park Career Pathways Initiative. This program provides accelerated training in specialized programs for people who live in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
