FARMWORKERS PROGRAMS
The Farmworker Career Development Program can help you transition into a full-time, year-round job.

We provide career training, work experience opportunities, job placement assistance and educational opportunities to unemployed or underemployed farmworkers and their family members.
Through the Farmworker Career Development Program, you can take GED® and English as a Second Language courses while you receive personalized academic and professional support. You may also be eligible to receive tuition assistance, which can help lower the cost of your education.
After completing the program, you will be prepared to pursue a full-time, year-round, unsubsidized job starting at $13/hour or higher.
Career Training
In the Farmworker Career Development Program, you can pursue career training in multiple fields, including:
- Automotive service technology
- Certified nursing assistant
- Cosmetology
- Welding technology
- Early childhood education
- Air conditioning, refrigeration and heating technology
- Law enforcement
- Medical assistant
- Business certificates
Support Services for Farmworker Students
We also provide support to help you reach your full potential, including:
- Counseling and evaluation
- Tuition assistance
- Basic skills tutoring
- Book loan program
- GED® preparation courses
- English as Second Language (ESL) courses
- Job placement assistance
Requirements to Join
You should apply to the Farmworker Career Development program if you:
● Are a United States citizen, permanent Resident Alien or other Alien approved by the Immigration and Naturalization Services, or have a DACA Employment Authorization Card;
● Have done farm work or have a spouse or parent that has done farm work during the past 24 months (2 years) from date of pre-application;
● Work or live in Indian River County, Okeechobee County, St. Lucie County, or Martin County; and
● Meet income guideline requirements.
