Transferring to Indian River State College is a smooth process designed to help you build on your previous coursework and achieve your educational goals with confidence and ease. Follow these simple steps to make your transfer seamless and get started on your path to success at the River.
Apply for Transfer Admission
Begin your journey by applying for transfer admission through the online portal.
Submit Transcripts
Request official transcripts from all previously attended colleges or universities. As part of the admissions process, incoming students must provide Indian River State College with official transcripts. Admissions personnel will review the transcripts and enter eligible coursework into the student record.
Transcripts may be requested online or through the registrar at your previous schools. Official academic transcripts must be sent directly from the high school and/or college or university to Indian River State College Student Records. You may also deliver them to one of our campuses in person, as long as the envelope is sealed. Your application for admission to Indian River State College is not considered complete until all required official transcripts are received.

Submit Exam Scores
Indian River State College awards college credit for qualifying scores on the Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), CLEP®, and Cambridge AICE (British AS-Level and A-Level) exams. Candidates interested in receiving course credit must have official test scores sent directly to Indian River State College. Credit will be awarded only once for the same subject. The amount of credit awarded depends on the score received. The Florida Department of Education provides specific information about scores needed to earn credit by exam.
Apply for Financial Aid

Get Your Associate Degree with Reverse Transfer at The River
Did you know you might have already completed the requirements for an Associate Degree from The River? Credits from your current college or university may count toward your Indian River State College degree.
Who is eligible?
Currently enrolled university students who have done all of the following:
- Have earned at least 30 credits at Indian River State College
- Have earned a total of at least 60 credits
- Have completed all general education, civic literacy, communication, computation, and foreign language competency requirements
- Transferred from Indian River State College without an A.A. Degree
- Have not yet earned an A.A. or Bachelor’s Degree
- Are in good academic standing
Credit from Other Colleges and Universities
As part of the admissions process, incoming students must provide Indian River State College with official transcripts. Students can then view how credit is applied to their degree and work with their advisor to determine if transferred coursework meets equivalency for their selected pathway.
Dual Enrollment
Students enrolled in college coursework prior to graduation from high school may be awarded college credit. For Dual Enrollment credit earned through a college other than Indian River State College an official college transcript is required for the evaluation of credit.

Earn credits for learning acquired through military service, work experience, employer training programs, or industry certifications.
Career Pathways Academies
Provide pre-collegiate students with career and technical training. Indian River State College has formal transfer agreements local school districts, giving students who successfully complete Career Pathway/CTE Academies at the secondary level, eligibility for college credit or clock hours at the post-secondary level.
