HIGH SCHOOL
Indiantown High School (IHS) is a public charter high school in Martin County, Florida, focusing on college preparedness and career and workforce education.

Operated by Indian River State College (IRSC) in partnership with the Martin County School District, IHS integrates traditional high school curriculum with workforce and college courses, producing graduates that can directly pursue career opportunities or higher education upon graduation. With smaller class sizes, college-style block scheduling, and our Pathfinder Advisory, we are uniquely equipped to meet the needs of all learners!
Indiantown High School opened its doors on August 10, 2022, for incoming Grade 9 students, offering programs that meet Florida’s public high school graduation requirements, career and technical certifications, and college-level Dual Enrollment opportunities. On August 9, 2023, the state-of-the-art 60,000 square-foot building opened for Grade 9, 10 and 11 students at 19000 Southwest Citrus Boulevard. Since Fall 2024, Indiantown High School has served students in grades 9-12.
Students have a rigorous and robust selection of academic and career technical education (CTE) courses to choose from. Our CTE Academies include Medical Technology, Building/Trades Technology, Mechanical/Technical Technology (which includes welding and automotive/marine), Agriculture Sciences Technology, and Media/Computers/Marketing! Eligible students may earn dual enrollment college credits and industry certifications as early as their freshman year.

Student applications are submitted in accordance with state and local guidelines and preference is given to siblings of current students. All applications are accepted up to enrollment numbers, provided the student has an adequate number of credits for the grade being entered.
Students must submit an application during the district determined windows for school choice. If more applicants apply than seats are available, the accepted students will be chosen on a randomized draw with preference being given to siblings of current students.
Students who do not receive a spot through the random selection/lottery process will be assigned a number on the waitlist. If space becomes available, students will be notified accordingly.
Florida Statute 1002.33(10)(b) ELIGIBLE STUDENTS: The charter school shall enroll an eligible student who submits a timely application, unless the number of applications exceeds the capacity of a program, class, grade level, or building. In such case, all applicants shall have an equal chance of being admitted through a random selection process.

Scheduling
Four by four block scheduling with the same classes every day and new classes each semester. 24/18 CTE & Accelerated Standard Diploma.
- Option to graduate by December of Junior Year
- Option to complete AA degree with IRSC prior to high school graduation – eligible students may begin dual enrollment in their freshman year
- Pathfinder Advisory Period every Wednesday, students receive tutoring, social events instruction, assemblies without loss of learning time, school-wide reading time
Communication, Size and Safety

ESSA
Under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), schools must track and report student progress every year. For students receiving special education services, this progress monitoring is tailored to their individual needs, as outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP). The IEP team regularly reviews and analyzes how a student is progressing. Based on this review, the team can adjust teaching methods or materials and modify the student’s goals to ensure they are appropriate and challenging. For students at Indiantown High School (IHS), specialized services like speech and occupational therapy are provided by the Martin County School District (MCSD). Additionally, MCSD is responsible for training and guiding all employees who work with students in Exceptional Student Education (ESE).
Student Support Services
Health
Indiantown High School offers school site clinic staff who operate under the supervision of the Indian River State College Chair of Charter School Health. The school site clinic staff works to support the students’ health needs during school hours. Clinic services include the following:
- Clinic access for illnesses occurring at school/ First aid for minor injuries.
- Addressing day-to-day student health needs
- Assistance with dispensing students’ medications as ordered by a medical provider.
Basic health services are provided. Responsibilities include:
- Gathering health information on students
- Contacting parents/primary care giver
- Updating health records for students
- Responding to emergencies
Tutoring
After-school tutoring is available in all academic subjects, provided at no cost to students or parents. Our qualified course teachers and subject-matter experts lead these individual and group sessions. While primarily offered after school, tutoring may also be arranged during the school day if schedules allow.
Academic Support
Our school provides specialized online programs to give students additional support in reading and math. These digital resources are designed to address individual learning needs and strengthen foundational skills. Through engaging online platforms, students can access targeted instruction and practice to improve their performance in crucial academic areas.
Counseling
The Indiantown High School Counseling Department empowers students to identify and cultivate their strengths and talents. Our counselors work with students at every grade level to set and achieve personal, social, academic, and career goals.
Governance
Governing Board
Indian River State College (IRSC) powers and supports Indiantown High School. The IRSC District Board of Trustees (DBOT) serves as the governing board of IHS. IRSC’s DBOT has established policies that govern both the College and the Charter School. In addition to the DBOT policies, IHS has created policies to address Florida State statutes that are specific to K-12 educational programs and schools and which supersede College rules and procedures to the degree specified in the text of the statutes. These IHS policies are found in the student handbook.
Managing Board
IRSC shall maintain a Charter School Management Advisory Board to serve in accordance with the purpose set forth below.
Purpose
The purpose of the Management Advisory Board is to provide guidance and support to the Charter School. The Management Advisory Board shall serve as an operational advisory body composed of representatives of the Martin County School Board, IRSC, and representatives from the business community. The Management Advisory Board shall provide valuable business perspectives on the mission, programs and purpose of the Charter School, as well as recommend actions to ensure efficient and effective operation of the Charter School.
Composition
There shall be at least nine (9) members of the Management Board as follows:
- The President of IRSC or designee.
- The Superintendent of the MCSD School Board or designee.
- Two employees of the administrative staff of IRSC appointed by the President of IRSC.
- Two employees of the administrative staff of the School Board appointed by the Superintendent of the MCSD School Board.
- One member of the Martin County business community appointed by the Board of Trustees of IRSC.
- One member of the Martin County business community appointed by the MCSD School Board.
- One member of the Martin County business community appointed by the other eight members.

Admissions Requirements
Students must meet the following minimum requirements to be eligible for admission to Indiantown High School (IHS).
- Completion of grade 8, 9, 10 or 11 for the previous school year.
- Complete the IHS Application for Admission.
- For students who attend a non-MCSD (Martin County School District) school, parents must request the records (transcripts and/or report cards) be sent to IHS. The application will only be considered once all records are received and reviewed. Admission is not complete until all records have been received from the previous school.
