IRSC HOSA Leaders Earn Accolades at 2022 HOSA State Leadership Conference
Leaders of the Indian River State College (IRSC) Chapter of Health Occupations Students of America returned from the HOSA State Leadership Conference after earning five gold medals, one bronze medal, and two prestigious scholarships. The conference—held April 9-12, 2022, at the Marriott World Center in Orlando—featured competition among 16 post-secondary intuitions and welcomed more than 2,500 HOSA members/competitors, advisors, and guests.
High School Students Across the Treasure Coast Flex their Math Muscles at Math Olympics Hosted by IRSC
Students from nine high schools in St. Lucie, Martin, and Indian River counties flexed their mathematical muscles on Friday, April 8 at the annual Math Olympics hosted by the Indian River State College (IRSC) Mathematics Department at the IRSC Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex Bailey Auditorium in Fort Pierce.
IRSC Student Takes First Place at Inaugural South Florida Translational Research Symposium at FIU
Two Indian River State College (IRSC) Biology students competed at the Florida International University (FIU) inaugural FIU Center for Translational Science South Florida Translational Research Symposium held April 13-14, 2022, in Port St. Lucie—with one IRSC student earning top accolades in the undergraduate category. In addition to the competition, the symposium featured plenary speakers addressing topics in aging, oxidative stress and inflammation, endothelial function, and metabolism.
