Indian River State College to Launch Cutting-Edge AI Training

Fort Pierce, FL (May 20, 2025) - Treasure Coast students will soon be positioned at the forefront of technology’s fastest-growing field. Indian River State College intends to offer two, new courses focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The non-degree accelerated Junior AI Engineer training and AI Data Center training will prepare students for emerging careers in AI and data infrastructure.  

The fast-track, skill-based training leads to industry-certifications and career advancement, addressing the impact AI has had across virtually every industry. This strategic initiative responds directly to extraordinary workforce demands, with the World Economic Forum identifying AI and machine learning specialists as the most rapidly expanding career path, projected to grow 40% over the next five years.

Moore, Ph.D. “These courses represent our commitment to creating pathways to high-demand careers while positioning the Treasure Coast region as a hub for technological innovation. By developing these trainings, we are ensuring our graduates have the specialized skills to secure jobs in tomorrow’s workforce and create the next generation of technological breakthroughs that will benefit our entire community.” 

Both courses will be designed for completion in just six weeks, allowing students to quickly gain skills and enter the workforce. 

Junior AI Engineer Training 

The Junior AI Engineer course consists of 240 hours of comprehensive training covering: 

  • Python for AI (60 hours) 
  • Generative AI (60 hours) 
  • Prompt Engineering (60 hours) 
  • Machine Learning and Data Science Fundamentals (60 hours) 

Course completers will be prepared to take the PCEP – Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer (OEDGP002) industry certification exam, validating their programming skills for AI applications, and will also earn a CyberGen credential. 

AI Data Center Technician Training 

The AI Data Center Technician course also delivers 240 hours of specialized training, including: 

  • Introduction to Data Center Operations (60 hours) 
  • Hardware Installation and Maintenance (60 hours) 
  • AI Infrastructure and Operations (60 hours) 
  • Networking and Security for AI Data Centers (60 hours) 

Course completers will be prepared for the Data Cabling Installer Certification (ETAIN009), an industry-recognized credential that validates a technician’s knowledge and skills in installing and maintaining data cabling systems and will also earn a CyberGen credential.
